In Love Live School Idol Festival, there is a main storyline for both μ's and Aqours. Reading the main storyline can unlock you new songs to play under the live show menu. Newer parts of the story can be unlocked by raising your rank and playing songs required to progress in the story.
Story Menu
This is the story menu. It is accessible by pressing the "story" button at the bottom of the screen. Similar to both the scouting menu and the live show menu, there's a switch to let you switch between μ's and Aqours mode. On the menu, there are two options to pick from. There is the main story and there are the side stories.
The main story is the story that will unlock new songs for you to be able to play. Parts of the main story can be unlocked by completing objectives under the "goals" section of the game (the goals menu can be accessed by going to the "home" menu and hitting the goals button. Usually, the goals that need to be completed to unlock more of the story will have you level up to a certain rank or complete a certain song under the "live show" menu. The main story of each idol group is split up into chapters. In each chapter, there are 4 stories. When you hit the main story button, navigate to the chapter the story you want to read is in, and then select the story you want to read.
Side stories are different. Every card (excluding support cards) has a side story that can be unlocked. To unlock a card's side story, you need to idolize the card and completely fill up it's bond meter. Once you do that, you will be able to read that card's side story under the side story menu. Make sure you're on the right mode for that card's idol group. Once you enter the side story menu, you will see the names of all the idols in idol group you have the story page set to. Any girl with unread side stories will have a "new" icon by their name. The side stories for N cards are located in the "others" tab. Hit the girl you want to read the side story for and select which side story you want to read. Remember, unread side stories will have a "new" icon by them. Reading a side story for the first time will give you 1 Love Gem. Love Gems are quite nice to have, so make sure you idolize and fill up the bond meter of as many cards as you can! If you're desperate to watch see a side story of a card that you don't have, you on can find a video of it on the card's respective profile on the School Idol Tomodachi card list.
